This Undetectable Force Transfer method explained in Lesson 3 was the method of collapsing the opponent by applying a force that the opponent could not detect.

In this lesson, I will explain the technique “Kote Otoshi Nage Kote Fudo” as an advanced technique using that undetectable Force Transfer method.

Kote Otoshi Nage Kote Fudo

A and B stand by face to face.

A…Defender
B…Attacker

a・B takes a half step with his right foot and grasps A’s left sleeve with his right hand.
b・A takes a half step back with his left leg, holds B’s right wrist with his left hand from below, and holds B’s lower right arm with his right lower arm from above.
c・A drops his right arm downward without applying direct force to B’s right lower arm that A touches.
d・B cannot resist and collapses downward from the waist.
e・A uses both hands to rotate B horizontally, who already has begun to collapse, in a counter clockwise direction. A lets B lie down on his stomach and keep the right hand of B with A’s left hand as Fudo (※).

Fudo…A general term for techniques that make the opponent unable to move by using locking joints of the arms and/or hands.

Important point…Neutralization of the opponent who resists

This technique was originally a Jujutsu technique of Gyakute-do. Against opponent who tries not to collapse. We use “so-called” power along with Tai Sabaki such as pulling arm and rotating him by using your weight.

So if you failed to make proper Tai Sabaki, no matter how much force you apply, if the opponent’s power is strong, it will be difficult to collapse him.

Then it becomes important to use AIKI for such case.

1 Instead of pushing with arm, just down your both knees.

The Undetectable Force Transfer method is the AIKI that embarrasses the opponent by moving in a different place without applying force to the contact point.

Therefore, this time, by bending both knees without applying force to the right lower arm, i.e. contact place, the body itself is lowered. The applied force at this time will be unexpected for the opponent, so it will be difficult to resist.

Also, in this case, the lower right arm moves in a wave shape, so looking at this point, it can be said that it is A technique similar to the Waving method.

2 Without downing knees, apply small force on his arm with a strong intention.

First, deduce the depth of downing your knees as a half and start to apply force on his arm with an intention to collapse his body.

Second, try not to down knees at all but put a small force on his arm with a strong intention to collapse his body.

For this technique it is important how you collapse the stable opponent by applying a small force on to his arm. Never put force onto his arm by which you intend to move down his body physically but apply a small force with a strong intention to move down not his arm but his whole body.
