Shinkage-ryu is one of the major sources of Japanese kenjutsu. It is a bujutsu founded by Kamiizumi Isenokami Nobutsuna, and developed by Yagyu Sekishusai. The purpose of our group is to study and embody the Riai of Shinkage-ryu.
In our dojo, we also practice kodachi techniques that lead to datto-ho (mutodori).
We welcome students of all ages and genders, with or without budo experience. Cross-training in kendo and other styles is also permitted.
