Its roots lie in the art of nodachi, which was passed down in the Yakumaru family. It was under Yakumaru Kanetake’s generation that the school took on the name “Nodachi Jigen-ryu”.
In the Showa period, the transmission of the art was discontinued after the war with Yakumaru Kenkichi as the last headmaster, but was restored in 1957 by Okuda Saneo and Ito Masao.
In our school, the basic continuation of the basic techniques, known as ” 3000 in the morning and 8000 in the evening,” is very important.
Our dojo policy is to pass on to future generations without changing the techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation from our predecessors.
